This dive site, Rannalhi Jetty, is located on the northern tip of Rannalhi Island and is easily accessed directly from the beach. Underwater, the topography features various reef potholes with sandy bottoms, interspersed with coral blocks and several smaller Giris (pinnacles) to explore, offering a maximum diveable depth of 18 meters.
The marine life is a major highlight, with frequent sightings of nursesharks, blacktip and whitetip reef sharks, as well as stingrays and eagle rays. The seabed is adorned with numerous sea sponges of various sizes and many hard coral blocks, providing a vibrant ecosystem for a wide variety of fish species.
The best time to visit the Maldives for diving is generally during the dry season (December to May) when visibility is at its peak. This site is excellent for both scuba divers and freedivers due to its accessibility and shallow average depth, offering fantastic opportunities for wide-angle photography of its resident large marine animals.
