This dive site is located off Nungwi Beach, once a quiet fishing village and now a bustling resort in northwest Zanzibar. While the coral reefs are not structurally spectacular, the site offers shallow dives focusing on macro life on the reef flats and a slight drop-off at 6 meters.
Divers can discover a surprisingly rich array of underwater life here, including an abundance of clownfish, starfish, ghost pipefish, cowfish, razorfish, crabs, shrimps, and scorpionfish easily spotted among the corals.
Nungwi is ideal for beginner divers and snorkelers due to its shallow depths and calm conditions. It’s particularly excellent for macro photography enthusiasts. No specific best time to visit is mentioned, but generally, warm tropical waters make it suitable year-round.
