This dive site, Porto Pi, features several sunken cargo ships near the port of Palma, Mallorca. The largest wrecks sit at approximately 28 meters, making this a deep dive suitable only for experienced divers. Descents are typically in blue water, and penetration of the wrecks is not recommended due to safety concerns. Navigation involves following the descent line to the wreck sites.
Marine life at Porto Pi is diverse. Nudibranchs are plentiful on the shallower wrecks, while octopus can be seen near the entrances of some larger wrecks. Schools of fish are also common, along with other smaller creatures.
The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months (spring and summer) when visibility is usually at its best and the water is warmer. Remember, this is an advanced dive, so proper planning, appropriate equipment, and a buddy are essential. Experienced dive guides are highly recommended.
