This dive site, Isla del Sec, offers an engaging experience for divers of all levels, featuring three distinct wreck sites. The primary attraction is a small boat resting at 18 meters, with its boxes, mast, and general ship plan still clearly identifiable, making it an excellent subject for exploration and photography. Further down, at approximately 27 meters, two additional boats await discovery, providing more advanced divers with deeper wreck opportunities. The site is known for its relatively easy navigation around the wrecks and surrounding rocky seafloor.
The marine life at Isla del Sec is diverse and vibrant. Divers can anticipate encountering the 'Big 4' – elusive octopuses, secretive moray eels, schooling barracuda, and camouflaged scorpion fish. The rocky structures and wreck provide habitat for different types of bream and green fish, while the seabed is adorned with pretty big rocks interspersed with small, colorful corals, adding to the site's rich biodiversity.
Isla del Sec is suitable for diving year-round, though the summer months typically offer the warmest water temperatures and calmest conditions. Its 'all levels' designation makes it perfect for both beginners learning wreck basics and seasoned professionals honing their skills. Freedivers will also find the 18-meter wreck appealing, while snorkelers can explore the shallower rocky areas. It's an ideal spot for wide-angle photography focusing on the wrecks and also macro photography capturing the smaller inhabitants and corals.
