This dive site, Nitrox Garden 2, is situated within a lagoon, approximately 15 minutes by boat from a dive center in the Dominican Republic. Known for its deeper profile, with a buoy anchored at 20 meters, it is primarily navigated along a diverse reef that drops significantly on its southern side to depths exceeding 40 meters. The topography features hard corals, large boulders, and small canyons, providing interesting swim-throughs and exploration opportunities for advanced divers.
The vibrant reef structure is home to a variety of marine animals, including lobsters, crabs, and moray eels found within its numerous crevices and canyons. Divers can also encounter larger fish such as groupers and triggerfish, as well as the elusive octopus. Unfortunately, the invasive lionfish is also present.
While specific seasonal highlights are not provided, the site's suitability for Deep Diving, EAN, and XR programs suggests good conditions for technical training. Its average depth of 13 meters, combined with a maximum of 27 meters and deeper drop-offs, also makes it highly suitable for advanced freedivers looking for challenging depths.
