This dive site, known as the ‘fountain of love’ (Fontana Amorosa), offers a fascinating glimpse into Roman history. Once an ancient port with a freshwater spring, it retains traces of its past – specifically, numerous amphorae scattered across the seabed. Divers can explore the remains of this former Roman settlement and imagine the rituals that took place there, where people would throw these amphora as gifts to the gods. The maximum depth is 15 meters, making it suitable for divers of all skill levels. A notable feature is a gulley perfect for exploring, and the area is home to big groupers hiding within, along with spotted stingrays in the sandy areas. Beyond the historical elements, the site boasts diverse marine life including Moray eels, Lionfish, shrimp, crabs, and cuttlefish residing among the interesting rock formations. Furthermore, a lovely canyon provides an enjoyable route for returning to the dive boat. Remember to observe these relics but refrain from taking them. Sea Urchins with long spines are also present.
