Tee Box

This dive site, Tee Box, is located east of the Sandals Resort in Curaçao and is exclusively accessible by boat. Divers typically anchor in a sandy area above a vibrant wall, which defines the primary dive structure. The site is famously known for its unique Ostracod mating displays, a rare bioluminescent spectacle occurring on specific nights after a full moon, transforming the shallow water into a glittering light show.
The wall and shallow reef at Tee Box host a variety of typical Caribbean marine life. Divers can expect to see colorful reef fish such as angelfish, parrotfish, and snappers, alongside smaller macro creatures like various crustaceans and nudibranchs nestled within the coral formations. The hard and soft corals, including brain corals, star corals, and sea fans, create a healthy and diverse underwater habitat.
The optimal time to experience Tee Box is during the Ostracod night dive, specifically 4 and 5 nights after a full moon, approximately 40 minutes after sunset. Day dives are also rewarding year-round, offering excellent conditions typical of Curaçao. With its shallow average depth of 9 meters and a maximum of 18 meters, Tee Box is highly suitable for both snorkelers and freedivers, particularly around the top of the wall and reef crest.
