This dive site, known as Stragglers Deep, is a pristine coral reef located just a short 5-minute boat ride from Stragglers. It's celebrated for its expansive, untouched coral formations and vibrant ecosystem. Divers can easily navigate this amazing part of the reef by searching for a distinctive large rock, which serves as a landmark for hidden lobsters and a beacon for exploring the rich underwater topography.
The marine life at Stragglers Deep is abundant and diverse. Divers are likely to encounter numerous reeffish, a variety of colorful corals, and particularly, many lobsters nestled beneath the prominent rock mentioned. Additionally, lucky visitors may spot placid nursesharks, often found resting and hiding underneath other rocks throughout the reef.
While no specific season is highlighted as the absolute best, Stragglers Deep is generally an excellent year-round destination for experiencing vibrant reef life. Both scuba divers and freedivers will find the relatively shallow depths of around 17 meters, with an average of 8 meters, highly accommodating. It's recommended to take time to explore all the nooks and crannies of the untouched corals and to peer under rocks for hidden marine inhabitants.
