El Natural offers a rewarding beach diving experience off the coast of Puerto Rico, suitable for both scuba divers and freedivers. Entry is from a rocky shoreline, requiring careful footing, but once submerged, divers can enjoy an easy-going pleasure dive. The site features a beautiful natural reef with a gradual descent from approximately 9 meters (30 feet) down to 21 meters (70 feet), though a significant drop-off extends deeper, reaching up to 40 meters. This deeper section, featuring a steep wall, is particularly well-suited for experienced divers undertaking DPV (Dive Propulsion Vehicle) dives, with EANX30 gas mixes recommended for deeper explorations.
The reef is teeming with diverse marine life, including abundant sponges and various invertebrates. Divers can observe a variety of small tropical fish, garden eels, and small moray eels nestled within the reef structure. There is also the exciting possibility of encountering larger marine life such such as stingrays and sea turtles cruising along the reef line. Visibility at El Natural is variable, ranging from 4.5 meters (15 feet) to over 18 meters (60 feet), with clearer conditions enhancing the experience significantly.
