About this dive site

This dive site, Holsandbukta, is located on a beach in Skogn, offering a convenient shore entry. Divers enter the water directly from the beach, where the initial depth is around 3 meters. To reach deeper areas, divers need to swim approximately 25 meters west, where the bottom gently slopes down to about 12 meters. This makes it an excellent location for training and relaxed dives, especially for those new to cold water diving.

The underwater environment boasts diverse fauna, providing opportunities to observe various marine species. Common sightings include crabs, starfish, flounder, and cod. The area near the entrance is characterized by numerous seaweed formations, which serve as a habitat for smaller marine life, enhancing the macro photography potential.

The best time to visit Holsandbukta for diving is typically during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn, when water temperatures are at their mildest, although dry suits are recommended year-round. Its gentle slope and sheltered nature make it suitable for both scuba divers of all levels, especially beginners, and freedivers looking to practice in a controlled environment. Ensure you are equipped for cold water conditions.
