This dive site, Batu Mumbang, is located on a small rock island, a 3-minute boat drive from Juara Bay on Tioman Island. It features two rocky islands breaking the surface, descending to a sandy bottom. The underwater landscape includes large boulder corals, rocky coral scapes, overhangs, and small walls, creating an engaging environment for exploration.
Divers can observe False Clownfish, Batfish, Fusiliers, Pufferfish, Parrotfish, and Butterflyfish. The site boasts healthy branching, brain, plate, and soft corals. Other species encountered include Stingrays, Turtles, and various Nudibranchs, adding to the biodiversity.
Batu Mumbang is excellent for all divers and freedivers, especially beginners, due to its shallow average depth and mild currents. It offers superb macro photography opportunities and scenic wide-angle shots of its coral landscapes. Visiting during Tioman's dry season ensures the best visibility.
