About this dive site

This dive site, Jemeluk Beach, is a truly iconic spot located in the heart of Amed, Bali, famous for its picturesque bay framed by the impressive Mount Agung. It offers exceptionally easy access directly from the beach, making it highly convenient for divers and snorkelers alike. Underwater navigation is straightforward, typically involving a swim over a shallow reef flat that then transitions into a vibrant reef drop-off, showcasing diverse coral structures.

Jemeluk's reef drop-off is home to gorgeous coral formations, both hard and soft, supporting a rich ecosystem of marine life. Divers can expect to encounter an abundance of colorful reef fish, including various species of damselfish, parrotfish, surgeonfish, butterflyfish, and anemone fish nestled amongst sea anemones. The healthy corals also provide habitat for smaller invertebrates, making it a good spot for macro photography.

The best time to visit Jemeluk Beach is generally during Bali's dry season, from April to October, when the weather is stable, and water conditions offer optimal visibility. Its gentle currents and easy access make it ideal for beginners, while the thriving reef offers plenty to explore for more experienced divers and freedivers. Snorkelers will particularly enjoy the extensive and vibrant shallow reef flat and the upper sections of the drop-off.
