This dive site, known as Umm Gamar or ‘Mother of the Moon’, is a dramatic location located in open sea approximately 80 minutes sailing from El Gouna. The island's crescent shape lends itself to this evocative name. This area requires experience due to its deep wall plunging into the blue depths. Moorings are situated over the south plateau, offering access to various dive zones. The east side presents a stunningly deep wall, accentuated by soft coral formations that extend towards the horizon. These corals create attractive habitats for diverse fish life, particularly noticeable in the first two perforated coral formations. A notable feature is a cavern at around 27 meters depth, featuring a sandy ledge at its base – a fascinating area for underwater photographers.
