Porteau Cove Provincial Park is a highly popular and well-developed dive site, celebrated for its accessibility and suitability for divers of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced enthusiasts. Convenient shore access is provided via stairs leading directly to the water, located near the parking lot. A dive map details points of interest, and a stair-side shower is available for post-dive rinsing.
The underwater environment features four wrecks, three of which are easily accessible and marked for exploration. A fire hose runs from the first marker buoy to the third wreck, aiding navigation. Divers can expect a diverse and abundant marine ecosystem, making it a "two-tanker" location for its quality and variety of aquatic life. It's important to note that scuba diving is prohibited from the boat launch due to boat traffic and floating logs, and fishing and crabbing are not permitted in the marina area.
