This dive site, Lady Elliot Island, is a pristine coral cay located at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef, famously known as "The Home of the Manta Ray." It offers two distinct underwater experiences: a calm, shallow lagoon on the eastern side perfect for relaxed exploration, and a vibrant coral reef on its western side with slightly more depth. The natural, unspoiled reef ecosystem is the main attraction, with easy navigation due to its shallow nature and excellent visibility.
The waters surrounding Lady Elliot Island boast an extraordinary and diverse array of marine life. The island offers fantastic diving and snorkeling experiences year-round. While marine life is abundant throughout the year, the period from May to August is generally considered prime time for encountering Manta Rays.
