This dive site, Jeff's Edge, is situated in the channel of Lady Musgrave Lagoon on the outer reef, offering an exhilarating drift diving experience. The significant water movement allows divers to feel as though they are flying, covering considerable distances along the outer edge. The navigation is straightforward as the current guides the dive, making it a unique and dynamic underwater journey.
The site is renowned for its incredible array of pelagic life. Divers can expect to encounter various shark species, including whitetip, blacktip, and grey reef sharks. Numerous rays also frequent the area, such as majestic eagle rays, common sting rays, and impressive bull rays, all thriving in the nutrient-rich currents that sweep through the channel. The surrounding reef likely hosts a variety of colorful reef fish and vibrant corals.
While no specific best time to visit is provided, the Great Barrier Reef generally offers optimal diving conditions from May to October, with calmer seas and excellent visibility.
