This dive site, known as The Wall/Waterfall, is strategically located between Koh Bon Bay and West Ridge, offering an excellent entry point for divers directly from the boat. It is notably characterized by the absence of strong currents, making it a comfortable diving experience. A unique highlight is the view of a natural waterfall from below the surface, creating a spectacular backdrop to the dive.
The underwater landscape is defined by a wonderfully overgrown wall, teeming with life. Divers can expect to encounter an array of small soft corals, distinctive 5-finger sponge snails, vibrant Blue Dragons (nudibranchs), various species of shrimps, and moray eels. The wider Koh Bon area is also renowned for frequent sightings of manta rays, making it a site with both macro and pelagic potential.
The best time to visit Koh Bon, in line with the Similan Islands season, is typically from November to April when conditions are calmest and marine life is prolific. This site is ideal for divers of all experience levels, including beginners, due to its mild currents and manageable depths. Freedivers will also find the calm conditions and interesting wall structure suitable for breath-hold diving.
