This dive site is a simple and beautiful shore dive located in Bodensee (Lake Constance), Switzerland. Divers park near the Coop petrol station, use an underpass, and enter the water via large stairs near a fountain. Navigation involves turning right and proceeding parallel to the wall (south-east) towards the Badhütte. Key features include an old diving board at 5-7 meters and a course of sights with Reef Balls beyond it, offering interesting topography for exploration.
The site boasts a vibrant ecosystem, with often lots of general fauna present, especially just below the bathing hut. During early summer to autumn, the shallows are covered with various aquatic plants, providing habitat for small fish, crustaceans like crayfish, and freshwater molluscs. Typical freshwater fish species like perch, carp, or pike might be encountered, alongside smaller invertebrates.
The best time to visit this dive site for observing the lush aquatic plants is from early summer through autumn. It is highly suitable for beginners due to its simplicity and manageable depth. Freedivers and snorkelers will also find the shallows and mid-depths appealing. Divers should always remember to display an alpha flag, and be mindful of potential boat traffic near the bathing hut area.
