About this dive site

This dive site features the Alviksvraket, a small fishing boat that sank upright in 1991 near Alvik beach in Lake Mälaren. The wreck stands completely upright on the bottom, making navigation straightforward and offering a visually engaging experience. Divers can explore the various details of the boat and the immediate surroundings.

Wildlife in Lake Mälaren is limited compared to marine environments. However, divers are almost guaranteed to encounter perch at this wreck, which often congregate around the structure. If fortunate, divers might also spot trout, adding a unique freshwater encounter to the dive.

The site is suitable for diving year-round for those equipped for cold water, with spring and autumn potentially offering better visibility. Its shallow depth makes it excellent for beginner divers and a great location for freediving practice. For photographers, the wreck's details offer interesting subjects.
