This dive site, known as Süli-tó or Šulianske jazero, is a freshwater lake in Slovakia primarily used as a 5 Sea DC Training Site. Access is via a gravel road past a buffet, but requires a pre-arranged appointment due to a closed gate. Navigation within the lake is straightforward, with a maximum depth of 10 meters and an average of 5 meters, making it an ideal environment for training and easy exploration. A notable feature is an underwater container house, which divers can explore.
The lake is home to various freshwater fish species including Carp, Perch, Bream, Sunfish, and Pike. Catfish have been frequently observed around the underwater container house, providing interesting encounters for divers. While specific plant life isn't detailed, freshwater ecosystems typically feature reeds, pondweed, and algae, contributing to the habitat for the fish.
The best time to visit Süli-tó would likely be during warmer months (spring to autumn) for more comfortable water temperatures. Due to its shallow depth, it's excellent for beginners, refreshers, and training sessions. Freedivers will find the 10-meter maximum depth suitable for practicing breath-hold techniques. Remember to arrange an appointment in advance for access. Fish monitoring activities are also possible.
