About this dive site

This dive site, known as Tiki Hut, is a unique floating platform located in the sheltered Little Bay of Sint Maarten. It features a snack bar, pool, and deckchairs, serving as a hub for a designated "Snorkel Park" in the surrounding waters. Divers and snorkelers explore the area around the platform, which includes several artificial wrecks deliberately placed to attract marine life and enhance the underwater landscape. Navigation is straightforward due to the shallow depths and the clear boundaries of the snorkel park.

The "Snorkel Park" at Tiki Hut is home to a variety of small reef fish attracted to the artificial structures. Expect to see colorful tropical fish, possibly juvenile fish, and various invertebrate species living amongst the corals and wrecks. The wrecks themselves provide substrate for sessile marine life, including soft corals and sponges, making it an interesting site for observing the development of a man-made reef ecosystem.

The Tiki Hut dive site is ideal for families, beginners, and snorkelers looking for an easy and accessible underwater experience. The best time to visit is during the dry season (roughly December to May) when the weather is calmest and visibility is typically excellent. Freedivers will also find the shallow depths and interesting wreck features very appealing. It's recommended to combine a visit here with enjoying the amenities on the floating platform for a full day of relaxation and underwater exploration.
