This dive site presents the Corveta Afonso, a warship that sank on September 4th, 2018, located south of Cabo Girão, off the coast of Madeira Island. Immediately after its sinking, the vessel was designated as a national park and now serves as an artificial reef teeming with marine life. Divers can easily access the wreck by boat, entering the water directly from the vessel to explore this impressive historical artifact. The Corveta measures 85 meters in length and remains in remarkably good condition. This dive offers a fascinating opportunity to observe diverse underwater ecosystems.
