This dive site, Zacatoso, is a quiet and shallow reef located directly opposite the hotel zone of Ixtapa. Divers can explore extensive coral coverage that gradually transitions into a sandy platform dotted with isolated coral hills. Navigation is straightforward, following the reef structure from the coral gardens to the sandy flats, making it a relaxed diving experience.

The coral reef and sandy bottom provide excellent habitats for diverse marine life. Expect to encounter various species of fish, sea cucumbers, and starfish which are often found among the seagrasses. Moray eels also inhabit the nooks and crannies of the reef structure, offering interesting encounters for observant divers.
