This dive site, known as Chunchacah Reef or Chunchacaab, offers a captivating experience for divers seeking an off-the-beaten-path location. The reef is characterized by a long mound covered in hard coral heads and towering sea fans, creating a diverse underwater forest. This structure provides ample shelter for a wide variety of fish, including blennies and angelfish. Dive depths typically range from 70 to 80 feet. It’s often enjoyed as the second dive of the day following an exploration of Maracaibo's wall. Keep an eye out for larger marine life, such as nurse sharks resting on the seafloor or majestic eagle rays gliding overhead. Chunchacah Reef is named after one of the three lagoons within Punta Sur Eco Park.
