This dive site, officially known as Sirru Faru Irumathi but better recognized as Sirru Fen Fushi’s House Reef, is located on the west side of the private Lagoon Resort and is reached by a short 5-minute boat ride to the east. It offers a relaxing long drift along a gentle slope, making it perfectly suited for beginner divers or those preferring shorter boat trips. The site is characterized by its accessible nature and easy navigation, providing a comfortable and enjoyable underwater experience for all.
The reef is notably a fantastic spot for encountering turtles, particularly the endangered hawksbill turtle, which is a very common inhabitant of this vibrant part of the reef. Divers can also expect to see a diverse array of typical Maldivian reef fish, including colorful parrotfish, damselfish, angelfish, and various snappers, all thriving among the healthy coral formations that adorn the slope.
The Sirru Fen Fushi House Reef is an excellent dive spot year-round, with the dry season (December to April) typically offering the calmest conditions and superb visibility. Its shallow maximum and average depths, combined with mild currents, make it ideal for extended dives and underwater photography. It is also highly recommended for snorkelers and freedivers, providing ample opportunity to observe the rich marine life, especially the resident turtles, in a tranquil setting.
