This dive site, Prisca Head, is located on the south-east end of Maabadhifaru, accessible by a 20-minute boat ride. It features a diverse topography starting with a shallow top reef at 4 meters, which then slopes down to a very wide plateau at 30 meters. This structure allows for varied diving profiles, from shallow explorations to deeper ventures along the slope and plateau.
The top reef and slope are teeming with vibrant marine life, including large schools of red tooth Triggerfish and various Surgeonfish. Divers frequently encounter White Tip Reef Sharks, impressive Napoleons, and majestic Stingrays, indicating a healthy and thriving ecosystem rich in both reef fish and larger pelagic species.
Prisca Head is suitable for divers of all levels, with its shallow sections ideal for beginners and snorkelers, while deeper areas offer more for experienced divers. The Maldives generally offers excellent diving year-round, with good visibility, making Prisca Head a rewarding experience for marine life observers and underwater photographers.
