This dive site, Amra, is situated at the northwest end of Dhiya Adi Faru, a low tide reef within a dynamic channel environment. The reef itself forms a distinctive finger extending into the channel, starting at a depth of 7 meters and gradually descending to a saddle at 15 meters, where a notable crack in the reef can be explored. Further along the front of this finger, divers will discover a series of impressive blocks and overhangs, lying between 20 and 30 meters, which provide intricate architectural features and shelter for marine life.
The site is teeming with pelagic action, particularly known for Whitetip Reef Sharks, Eagle Rays, and Devil Rays gracefully playing in the strong currents. Schools of Red Snappers and Bluefin Jacks are frequently seen passing by. In the more sheltered sections and within the various overhangs, divers can spot Moray Eels and Turtles seeking refuge, adding to the rich biodiversity of the site.
While specific seasonal highlights are not provided for Amra, the Maldives generally offers excellent diving year-round. Divers should be prepared for strong currents, which are a defining characteristic of this channel dive, and ensure they possess adequate experience in drift diving and current management to fully enjoy the site's deeper features and pelagic encounters.
