This dive site is the house reef of Pulau Payar, conveniently located off the main beach and adjacent to the Marine Park Jetty. It serves as a vibrant, protected bay, offering a relatively easy and enjoyable underwater experience with clear navigation around the jetty structure and reef patches. Divers can expect to encounter an abundance of juvenile Black Tip sharks, playful reef fishes, and impressive schools of fusiliers congregating under the Marine Park Jetty. Groupers and various other bottom dwellers are also present, complemented by thriving clusters of diverse hard corals.
The site is suitable for diving year-round, with its sheltered location typically providing consistent conditions. Highlights include observing the baby blacktip sharks and the mesmerising fusilier schools. It's an excellent spot for both divers and freedivers, especially beginners, offering ample opportunities for wide-angle and macro photography in its shallow depths.
