This dive site is located within the tranquil Baia di Castiglioncello, offering a safe and shallow environment ideal for diver training. Situated between 8 and 15 meters deep, protected by the walls of Cala de’ Medici port, it's a perfect spot for Open Water Diver course commencement and conclusion. Navigation is straightforward, following the rocky seabed transitions between sand and Posidonia seagrass.
The site is rich in macro marine life, with octopuses, colorful flabellines (nudibranchs), and fire worms frequently observed on the rocks. These creatures inhabit the interface between sandy patches and the dense Posidonia oceanica beds, providing ample opportunities for close-up viewing and photography.
The best time to visit is during the warmer months when conditions are most stable and visibility is typically good. Its protected nature makes it suitable year-round, weather permitting. Divers can enjoy leisurely exploration of the macro life, while freedivers will appreciate the shallow depths and calm waters for practice and observation.
