This dive site offers a fascinating experience at Quarantine Point, affectionately known as 'Shake-Em' by locals. Located in calm waters, it features an 180ft freighter that met a dramatic end after being struck by a storm while carrying its cargo. The wreck remains remarkably intact, preserving much of the ship’s interior – instruments, furniture, equipment, and even cargo like giant bags of cement – creating a truly unique underwater environment. Divers can explore the spiral staircase leading to the pilot house, examine the massive deck machinery, glide along the hull, or venture into the open cargo hold. The area is teeming with marine life; you might encounter black gorgonians, white hydroids, a diverse range of sponges, and occasionally a green moray eel. The depth ranges from 55 to 100 feet (16 to 30 meters).
