About this dive site

This dive site, Glovers Reef, is situated off the coast of Grenada and offers a vibrant, shallow reef experience. Mimicking the structure of nearby Shark Reef, it's characterized by numerous nooks and crannies to explore, making it ideal for careful observation of hidden life. The site's relatively shallow profile allows for extended bottom times and relaxed diving.

Divers can expect to encounter drums and various smaller eels, including the elusive chain moray, often found hiding within the reef's many holes. The reef boasts an abundance of soft corals, pillar corals, and distinctive oval-shaped barrel sponges, which have adapted their growth due to the prevailing current. These sponges and corals provide refuge for king crabs and a variety of juvenile fishes.

With an average depth of 5 meters and a maximum of 11 meters, Glovers Reef is excellent for both scuba divers and freedivers seeking an accessible reef with rich marine life. The prevailing current adds dynamic elements to the dive, making it interesting for underwater photography, particularly macro subjects. The best time to visit would generally align with Grenada's dry season (January to May) for optimal conditions, though diving is possible year-round.
