This dive site, Point of Sand, is located at the eastern end of Little Cayman, offering a pristine desert island beach experience. Fringed by a tropical blue water lagoon, it presents an ideal, incredibly shallow environment for exploring the local sea world. Navigation is straightforward within the inshore coral heads of the calm lagoon.
The vibrant marine ecosystem hosts various colorful species, including blue tangs, angelfish, and parrotfish, which can be observed darting around the coral formations. While not a major big animal site, occasional stingrays may also be spotted gliding across the sandy bottom.
Point of Sand is suitable year-round, with calm conditions making it perfect for snorkelers, beginner divers, and freedivers. Its shallow depths and excellent visibility make it an outstanding location for underwater photography, particularly for wide-angle shots of the picturesque lagoon and macro shots of the smaller reef inhabitants.
