This dive site, known as Lost Anchor (also Anchora or White Reef), is a popular drift dive experience when currents flow out of Santa Maria Bay. Divers often combine it with the Farol site. The name "Lost Anchor" suggests a prominent anchor structure which serves as a navigational point and an interesting feature for exploration. The dive unfolds across three distinct depth levels, offering varied topography.
The site boasts typical Capeverdian reef fauna, making it a vibrant underwater environment. Divers can expect to encounter soldierfish, gruntfish, and trumpetfish darting among the corals. Smaller inhabitants like nudibranchs, octopus, and cuttlefish are frequently spotted, making it excellent for macro enthusiasts. Small stingrays and moray eels also reside within the reef's crevices.
