About this dive site

This dive site is the wreck of Papa Doc, a 21-meter long shrimp boat. The vessel played a role in transporting mercenaries and weapons during Haiti’s revolution, linked to the actions of dictator Papa Doc Duvalier. It sank following a violent storm near a reef and shallow depth. As a result of numerous hurricanes, the wreck is now heavily deteriorated. Dive conditions are likely challenging due to the extensive damage and potential for strong currents around the wreck. Visibility may be limited. While not specifically documented here, marine life such as crustaceans and small fish could potentially inhabit the structure.
