This dive site, Diamond Reef, is a popular spot just a 2-minute boat ride from Scrub Island. It earned its unique name after a diver unfortunately lost a diamond ring here about a decade ago, which has never been recovered. The reef itself features a small, yet impressive, wall formation stretching approximately 200 yards long, offering a straightforward and enjoyable dive profile.
Divers and snorkelers exploring Diamond Reef can expect to encounter a vibrant array of marine life. The site is particularly noted for its population of colorful angelfish, sleek barracudas, and intriguing squid. Additionally, graceful stingrays are often spotted gliding across the sandy bottom, and various species of eels can be found peeking from their rocky hideouts.
Diamond Reef is exceptionally versatile, being accessible in nearly all weather conditions, making it a reliable choice for dive operators. Its shallow maximum depth and generally mild currents make it an ideal location for divers of all experience levels, including beginners. Freedivers and snorkelers will also find the site very rewarding due to its clear waters and abundant, easily viewable marine life near the surface.
