This dive site is the Iberia, a shipwreck located three miles southwest of Long Beach, New York, near New York City. She rests in 60 feet of water within "Wreck Valley," an area known for its numerous shipwrecks. The Iberia has been a popular destination for local divers and also attracts those seeking souvenirs or lobster fishing opportunities. A significant portion of the wreck, including the sterncastle and rudder, lies separately on the sea floor – this section was discovered by Aqua Explorers Inc. in 2011 and is considered a distinct shipwreck. Visibility and water temperature aboard the Iberia can vary, making it suitable for divers with intermediate to advanced experience.
