This dive site is located in Siam Bay, the northernmost bay of Racha Yai. The area offers a fascinating blend of rocky formations and sandy areas rich with hard coral. A notable feature is a collection of man-made monuments within the central bay – these include two impressive elephant statues and a temple gate guarded by a mythical giant sentry known as Yak in Thai folklore, believed to protect the site from evil spirits. These statues are situated at depths between 18 and 20 meters and serve as an ideal starting point for dives. Divers can expect encounters with a diverse array of marine life, including Kuhl’s Stingrays often hidden amongst the sand alongside peacock flounders. Common sightings also include parrotfish, triggerfish, butterflyfish, barracuda, turtles, octopus, and cuttlefish. The waters have been known to host unusual and rare specimens such as large stonefish, flathead crocodile fish, and vibrant nudibranchs. Keep a watchful eye while exploring this captivating underwater environment.
