This dive site, Marla’s Mystery, is a 34-meter barge purposely sunk in 2000 off Racha Yai’s east coast. It functions as a fantastic artificial reef, attracting a variety of marine life. It is considered an advanced dive, primarily due to its depth and the challenge of its sometimes elusive location, which can require precise navigation.
The open hull of the wreck provides shelter and hunting grounds for diverse marine species. Divers can expect to encounter moray eels, snappers, and tuna. Additionally, groupers, lionfish, barracuda, and scorpionfish are frequently spotted, with some coral growth beginning to establish itself on the wreck structure.
While no specific best time to visit is provided, the wreck is generally a year-round attraction in Racha Yai. It offers an excellent opportunity for experienced divers and freedivers capable of reaching its depths to explore a vibrant artificial reef teeming with life and practice their navigation skills.
