Koh Khrock, also known as "mortar" in English, is a private island located about 2 kilometers from Koh Larn in Chonburi, Thailand. Divers can explore this site either by starting a hard coral dive directly from the beach or by experiencing a drift dive along the island's perimeter. The eastern side features a gently sloping hard coral reef, making it a vibrant and accessible location.
This site is renowned as a sanctuary for turtles, which are often spotted, sometimes even sleeping at depths of around 6 meters. The vibrant hard coral formations throughout the site host a rich array of marine life, including numerous sea anemones with charismatic clownfish, and various other reef fish species common to the Gulf of Thailand.
With its calm conditions and shallow depths, Koh Khrock is ideal for beginners and is particularly popular for open water training courses. Both snorkelers and freedivers will also find the diverse marine life and accessible conditions highly enjoyable. The best time to visit for optimal conditions is typically during Thailand's dry season, from November to April, when the seas are calmer and visibility is generally at its best.
