About this dive site

This dive site, Koh Keaw Nok (also known as Koh Khai Nok), is a popular shallow spot ideal for both diving and snorkeling, frequently included in island tour itineraries from Phuket. The underwater navigation is straightforward, characterized by a soft, white sandy bottom interspersed with scattered coral patches. It's a relaxed site with no known significant history or specific navigational challenges, perfect for gentle exploration.

The site is renowned for its abundant and colorful tropical fish, which are often very accustomed to human presence, making for excellent close-up encounters. Divers and snorkelers can expect to see various species such as vibrant Parrotfish and Damselfish. While large pelagics are rare, the rich density of reef fish around the coral formations provides a lively underwater spectacle.

The best time to visit Koh Keaw Nok is generally during the dry season (November to April) when the waters are calmest and visibility is at its peak, enhancing the already crystal-clear conditions. For freedivers and new divers, the shallow depths (1-12m typical, max 16m) and mild currents offer a safe and enjoyable experience. Photography enthusiasts will find ample opportunities for wide-angle shots of schooling fish in clear water, though dedicated macro subjects might be less prevalent.
