This dive site presents the ‘Reggio di Messina’, a substantial wreck located 25 minutes by boat from Estartit, Spain. This former ferry, measuring 115 meters in length and originally used to transport both passengers and train cars between Sicily and Italy, was intentionally sunk in 1991 near Estartit to create an artificial reef. Due to numerous winter storms over the years, the wreck has broken into three distinct sections: a stern, a central area, and a bow. The uppermost portion of the vessel lies at approximately 27 meters below the surface, descending to a maximum depth of 35 meters. This dive is recommended only for experienced divers who possess level two or advanced certification. Diving conditions must be favorable; access to the wreck is contingent on suitable weather. Visibility can vary greatly due to storm damage and sediment accumulation.
