This dive site, Cala Túnez, is a charming small rocky cove nestled at the base of the Cabo de Palos lighthouse. Underwater, it presents a fascinating and varied topography for its shallow depth, comprising expansive seagrass meadows, intricate rocky formations, and clear sand banks. It offers an easily navigable underwater landscape, ideal for leisurely exploration without the need for complex navigation.

Despite its shallow nature, Cala Túnez boasts an incredibly rich underwater ecosystem, with snorkelers often encountering around 30 different marine species. Common sightings include gilthead sea bream, dusky grouper, sand steenbras, and the elusive broadnosed pipefish. The vibrant purple sea star adds a splash of color to the diverse marine life thriving within the seagrass and rocky areas.

Cala Túnez is exceptionally well-suited for beginner divers, snorkelers, and freedivers due to its calm, shallow waters and abundant marine life. The best time to visit is typically during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn, when water temperatures are comfortable. It's an excellent spot for macro photography and close observation of Mediterranean species, offering a tranquil and rewarding experience for all levels of underwater enthusiasts.
