This dive site, Anse Soleil, is a serene and sheltered bay located on the coast of Mahé, Seychelles. Known as a tranquil haven, it's particularly adored by locals for its calm, turquoise waters and accessible 300-meter-long beach, flanked by striking granite rocks. Underwater navigation is straightforward, simply following the pristine coral beds that extend from the shore within the protected bay, making it an ideal spot for relaxed exploration without strong currents or complex features.
Anse Soleil boasts perfectly preserved coral beds, supporting a rich and varied undersea life. Divers and snorkelers can expect to encounter an abundance of colorful reef fish, various types of hard and soft corals, small crustaceans, and potentially nudibranchs. While not a site for large pelagic encounters, sea turtles and small rays are sometimes spotted gliding gracefully through the shallows.
The best time to visit Anse Soleil for diving and snorkeling is generally year-round, with particularly calm conditions and excellent visibility often experienced between March and May, and again from September to November. This site is exceptionally well-suited for snorkelers and freedivers due to its shallow depths and calm conditions. Its sheltered nature and minimal currents also make it perfect for beginner divers looking to gain confidence in a beautiful, vibrant marine environment.
