This dive site, Blairgowrie Pier, offers a rewarding experience for divers of various levels. The sheltered location and manageable depth range (between 2 and 7 meters) make it ideal for exploring a vibrant underwater ecosystem. The pier pylons and sea wall are covered in sponges, creating a haven for fascinating creatures like Seahorses, Nudibranchs, and even the elusive Tasselled Anglerfish. Ledges and crevices provide homes for Rays, Octopus, Squid, and Giant Cuttlefish. You’ll likely encounter Stargazers, Flathead, Decorator Crabs, and Goatfish amongst a diverse array of marine life. A notable event is the annual Giant Spider Crab march held in May-June, attracting thousands of crabs to the shallows for their moult. It's an excellent location for macro photography.
