Blairgowrie Pier offers a rewarding dive experience suitable for various skill levels, thanks to its sheltered location and manageable depth range of 2 to 7 meters. The dive site is situated along the pier around the marina and is particularly good when the wind is from the West or South. Divers can explore a vibrant underwater ecosystem where pier pylons and the sea wall are adorned with sponges, providing a haven for fascinating creatures. Expect to encounter Seahorses, Nudibranchs, and the elusive Tasselled Anglerfish. Ledges and crevices shelter Rays, Octopus, Squid, and Giant Cuttlefish, while Stargazers, Flathead, Decorator Crabs, and Goatfish are commonly seen. This site is also renowned for the annual Giant Spider Crab march in May-June, when thousands of crabs gather in the shallows to moult. It's an excellent location for macro photography.
