This dive site, known as Exotic's house reef, is a protected area directly accessible from the resort. It begins at a shallow 5 meters and gently slopes down to 13 meters, making it an excellent spot for divers of all levels, especially those looking to ease back into diving or practice skills. The site features an interesting mix of scattered coral patches, seagrass beds, and an artificial reef including a unique thresher shark cement monument.
The house reef is teeming with marine life, offering a diverse array of fish and incredible macro opportunities. Divers can expect to find fascinating critters such as mandarin fish (especially during their evening mating rituals), camouflaged frogfish, and elusive ghostpipe fish. The seagrass areas are particularly rich in smaller invertebrates and unique macro subjects.
The best time to visit this dive site is in the evening to witness the captivating mandarin fish mating dance. It's a fantastic site for both macro photographers and casual divers due to its rich biodiversity and calm conditions. Freedivers will also find the shallow, sloping profile suitable for extended breath-hold dives and close observation of marine life.
