This dive site, known as Coraya Divers Camiguin Housereef, is conveniently located about 200 meters along the sandy beach from Balai sa Baibai Dive Resort. It serves as an excellent training ground, particularly for Open Water Diver confined sessions and introduction dives due to its shallow maximum depth of 17 meters and an even shallower training area of 6 meters. Divers can navigate along the sandy bottom punctuated with coral blocks, offering a gentle and manageable underwater experience.
The housereef is home to a delightful array of marine life. Divers can frequently spot clownfish, banner fish, and young turtles making their way through the corals. Keep an eye out for intriguing leaf fish and various crabs hidden amongst the coral blocks. Lucky divers might even encounter sea snakes gracefully gliding through the water.
The best time to visit Camiguin, and thus this housereef, is generally during the dry season from November to May when the weather and water conditions are most favorable. This site is particularly recommended for beginner divers and freedivers due to its calm and shallow nature. It's also a fantastic spot for macro photography enthusiasts looking to capture the smaller, intricate marine creatures.
