About this dive site

This dive site features the M/S Neuenfels, a German ore carrier and the largest wreck in Narvik harbour, measuring 143m long and 18m wide. Anchored to load ore, it was sunk during World War II, lying between 14 and 28 meters, with a maximum depth of 21 meters. Its relatively shallow profile allows for extended exploration of this significant historical wreck.

The M/S Neuenfels wreck teems with marine life, notably a large number of Cod and various other fish species. Divers can also observe an abundance of sea urchins and starfish covering different parts of the sunken vessel, adding to the biological interest of the site.

This dive site is considered beginner-friendly due to its manageable depth and long potential bottom times. It is an excellent location for wreck enthusiasts and underwater photographers focusing on wide-angle shots of the structure and its resident fish. Divers should be prepared for cold water conditions typical of Norwegian diving.
