This dive site, known as Anchor Point, is distinguished by a remarkable coral-covered French anchor believed to date back to around 1750. Hailed as the most beautiful anchor in the entire area, it serves as the central landmark for navigation. Divers typically explore the vibrant coral reef surrounding this historical artifact, which is easily accessible due to the site's relatively shallow and gentle nature.
Anchor Point is teeming with typical Caribbean marine life. Divers can expect to encounter a wide variety of reef fish, hard and soft corals, and various invertebrates inhabiting the reef and the historic anchor. A notable feature of this site is a cleaning station, offering excellent opportunities to observe fish interactions and smaller critters up close.
The dive site offers excellent conditions for both scuba divers and freedivers, with an average depth of 9 meters and a maximum of 18 meters. Its gentle profile and rich marine activity make it ideal for underwater photography, particularly macro subjects and wide-angle shots of the anchor. Visiting during typical Caribbean dry seasons will likely ensure the best visibility and calmest conditions.
