About this dive site

This dive site, the Blue Lagoon, is an iconic shallow strait nestled between the islands of Comino and Cominotto in the Maltese archipelago. Renowned for its brilliant azure waters and pristine white sandy seabed, it offers a tranquil environment. Underwater navigation is simple due to the extreme shallowness and excellent visibility, primarily exploring the sandy expanse and surrounding rocky coves.

This vibrant shallow ecosystem is home to large schools of seabream, often seen glistening in the sunlight. Divers and snorkelers can also spot fascinating sandy bottom dwellers, such as the unique flying gurnard, making it an interesting site for observing smaller marine life.

The best time to visit the Blue Lagoon is during the warmer summer months when the water is most inviting. It is exceptionally well-suited for snorkelers and freedivers of all levels due to its calm, crystal-clear, and shallow conditions, providing an ideal entry point for underwater exploration.
