Anchor Bay

Anchor Bay, located in Il-Mellieha on the northern side, is a fantastic dive site suitable for divers of all levels, particularly beginners. It's famously known for Popeye's Village, the original film set from the 1979 movie, which is still visible above water. The bay itself is named after an anchor that historically marked barges delivering materials to Sweet Haven, the film's primary setting. Underwater, divers can explore a magnificent and captivating prehistoric cave, along with diverse geological formations.
